Give Funds
Every financial contributor — from young students collecting coins in their classroom to our major corporate and foundation funders — wants to be sure that their donation is making a difference.
Donors and contributors to Forgotten Harvest are pleasantly surprised to hear that 95% of each donated dollar goes directly to our food rescue program. In addition, our rescue/deliver internal cost is just 16 cents per pound.
As a result, Forgotten Harvest has earned a 4-star rating — the highest possible rating — from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities. Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that “Forgotten Harvest excels, as compared to other charities in America, in allocating and growing finances in the most fiscally responsible way possible.”
We are privileged to have countless contributors who stand together with us in our fight against hunger and waste. We pledge to continue our fiscal responsibility by maximizing each and every donation so we may continue our mission to relieve hunger in our community through our surplus food rescue program. For more information, contact Anna Wallbillich, Development Director or call 248.967.1500, x 104.
Each dollar donated provides 6 healthy meals to people in need.
The State of Michigan provides a special Tax Credit for charitable gifts made to certified hunger relief organizations. The purpose of this tax credit is to encourage individuals and corporations to help relieve hunger in our state. To learn more about the Michigan Tax Credit as it applies to your donation click here.
