A Message from our CEO, Kirk Mayes

Hunger is a reality for many in our community.

But the solution is in our hands. Food in metro Detroit is abundant. We just need help acquiring and delivering it to those who are hungry.

Hunger in our community is unacceptable. That’s why we’re doing all we can to provide as much fresh food as possible to hungry families and seniors in metro Detroit. But we can’t do it alone. We need partners like you! When we all work together, we can reach those in need.

As metro Detroit’s food rescue organization, Forgotten Harvest serves families in crisis by rescuing food from 800 food donors and then delivering this fresh food free of charge to 257 emergency pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and senior centers. In fact, we are on track to rescue 42 million pounds of food this year — and every bit is needed.

I’m excited to tell you about a limited-time opportunity for you to feed twice as many families and individuals in need. The Harold and Kay Fund has set up a generous Matching Gift Challenge and offered to match every dollar donated — up to $50,000 — before December 31st.

Our neighbors need our help … and we need yours. Will you help with a gift to
Forgotten Harvest today? (Double your donation by clicking here!)

The solution is right here in front of us. Please help so we can rescue fresh food and get it to those who need it now.

Gratefully yours,
Kirk Mayes
CEO
