From November 9 through November 29, Forgotten Harvest is partnering with Vimax Media, a food marketing agency located in metro Detroit, in the #FloodingYourFeedToFeed social campaign to help feed families in need. By flooding audiences’ social feeds with creative, compelling food videos, the campaign aims to initiate fundraising efforts that help feed surrounding communities while raising awareness of hunger and food insecurities.

Since March, there has been an increased need for food in metro Detroit due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Forgotten Harvest has seen an approximate 50% increase in clients. At Vimax Media, food is the heart of our business and our passion for food runs deep. We make ingredients shine all day every day; however, we know that hunger and food insecurity are a reality for many who go without this basic need. With the #FloodingYourFeedToFeed social campaign, Vimax and Forgotten Harvest are joining food forces to help feed families in crisis.

About Forgotten Harvest
Oak Park, Michigan-based Forgotten Harvest was formed in 1990 to fight two problems: hunger and waste. Forgotten Harvest “rescued” over 45 million pounds of food last year by collecting surplus prepared and perishable food from over 800 locations, including grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors, and other Health Department-approved sources. This donated food, which would otherwise go to waste, is delivered free-of-charge to over 250 emergency food providers in the metro Detroit area.
