As a 34-year-old nonprofit, Forgotten Harvest has held its fair share of philanthropic events. From Comedy Night to Women’s Harvest Lunch to Harvest Heatwave, we love to bring our community out for a good time and a good cause.

On April 12, 2024, we held our very first Feeding Detroit Together, a new kind of Forgotten Harvest benefit presented by the Lineage Foundation for Good. Held at the illustrious MGM Grand Detroit and featuring stand-up comedy by Jeff Scheen, speed painting by Dave Santia (the world’s tallest speed painter, in case you didn’t know), a delicious meal, and general merriment on the dance floor, Feeding Detroit Together did indeed bring the metro Detroit community together for a night of fun and philanthropy.

The event raised over $295,000 for our organization (that’s the equivalent to 1,180,000 meals!) that goes directly to assist Forgotten Harvest’s pantry partners, grocery rescue program, Client Choice Market, volunteer programs, and various meal programs supporting individuals, children, seniors, and Veterans experiencing food insecurity.

Whether you were in attendance and hope to catch yourself in a still or you weren’t able to make it and hope to ready yourself for next year’s event, please enjoy these photos taking you through some of the highlights of our first Feeding Detroit Together benefit!
